One of the many stereotypes of the South and Southron folk, is that they are ignorant, illeducated simpletons. This is simply not so. In fact, arts, philanthropic endeavors, faithful religion, and intellectual pursuits are everywhere in the South. Listed below are a few of the major education institutions that make up the Grand Old South.


I admit, though, that I am partial to Furman University in South Carolina. I met some wonderful people there. The campus is of the utmost beauty and the education is top-notch.
